Kajang is a sub-district located within the Hulu Langat District in the state of Selangor and neighbouring with Cheras, Balakong, Semenyih. Located at the south of Kuala Lumpur and is made the district capital of Hulu Langat because of its central location.
Second Place In Selangor After Petaling
The population for Daerah Hulu Langat ranked the second place in Selangor just after Petaling. According to the Department of Statistics, Kajang has turned into one of the most populated cities in Malaysia with a population of about 800,000 in 2010 or 15% of Selangor’s population of 5.4 million though the local town council (MPKj) expects Kajang’s numbers to breach 1mil people by 2013.
Kajang had an annual population growth of 9% as at 2014, comparing to Malaysia population growth of 1.5% only.
